Only one active COVID-19 case left in health districts covering Flin Flon, Creighton, Denare Beach

The Flin Flon district is one of several districts in the Northern Health Region (NHR) where one or no active cases of COVID-19 are currently present, according to provincial government statistics. Only one district in the NHR - Lynn Lake/Marcel Colomb/Leaf Rapids/O-Pipon-Na-Piwin/Granville Lake - has no active cases, but the Churchill region (which is covered by the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority) also has no active cases found.
By contrast, the NHR still has 209 active cases of the disease, with more than 40 per cent of those active cases in The Pas/OCN/Kelsey district. That district has 85 active cases as of July 13, ahead of the second-highest district, the Shamattawa/York Factory/Tataskweyak/Split Lake district, which has 63 active cases. ....

Northern Manitoba drops to 247 active COVID-19 cases, vaccination rates continue climb

One new case was reported in the Flin Flon/Snow Lake/Cranberry Portage/Sherridon district, along with two recoveries from the disease. The main locale of recent northern cases has been The Pas/OCN/Kelsey, where 50 people - including six new people in the last day - have active cases of COVID-19.
The remote Island Lake district has the most active cases of COVID-19 of any northern district at 69, but numbers there are declining. Case numbers in remote districts like Island Lake can also be inflated and outdated, due to delays in cases in the districts being marked by provincial officials as active and recovered . ....

Flin Flon vaccination rate rises as new 12 pop-up clinics, The Pas supersite announced

Anyone age 12 and up who lives or works in the NHR can receive a first dose of vaccine at the Flin Flon site - youth ages 12-17 can only receive Pfizer-BioNTech doses, as the Moderna vaccine has not yet been approved for use in people under age 18.
Second doses will also be available for people who qualify. Under current provincial eligibility rules, anyone who received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine before March 29 (including all Indigenous people 12 years old and older) and people who have one of a list of health conditions or take certain medications can book appointments for second doses. Water treatment plant work, road upgrades among northern infrastructure projects funded by province

“Supporting our northern communities with essential infrastructure like additional roads and water treatment plants greatly impacts and benefits the well-being of Manitobans living in these communities. These projects also have a positive effect on the strengthening and rebuilding of the provincial economy as a whole,” said Indigenous and Northern Relations Minister Eileen Clarke in a March 4 news release. “I am pleased to have worked together and across departments to bring these capital projects to fruition; when communities are strong, Manitoba is strong.”
Projects funded north of the 53rd parallel included $175,700 for the demolition of the water treatment plant in Granville Lake, $129,000 for community roads in Moose Lake, $120,000 for community roads in Cormorant and $100,000 for a fire hall and a water treatment plant roof in Easterville. $60,301 went to a water treatment plant upgrade in Nelson House and $50,000 towards lagoon road upgrades in Wabowden.
