Lava and ash spewed from Mount Etna in Catania, Italy, as the volcano erupted on March 12.
ROME - Italy s Mount Etna volcano has erupted again, mesmerizing people once again with its spectacular explosions. 
The volcano in eastern Sicily spewed out towering clouds of ash and lava stones on March 12. 
Footage by Giuseppe Distefano, who runs Etna Walk, shows the volcano sending a large gray plume of ash and lava into the Sicilian sky.
In the video, loud booms can be heard as lava rains from the sky in a fiery and terrifying spectacle.  ....

A local photographer captured stunning footage of Italy’s Mount Etna erupting on Thursday, February 18. The footage, by Giuseppe Distefano, shows an up-close view of lava spewing from a crater and flowing down the volcano. Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology said the volcano’s southeast crater first started pouring lava on Wednesday, February 17. By Thursday, volcanic activity increased and lava fountains were reaching heights of up to 700 meters (more than 2,000 feet), the institute said. Credit: Giuseppe Distefano via Storyful ....
