Bookers will be sent a link in advance giving access and will be able to watch at any time for 48 hours after the start time. “Literature is essential to society in the way that dreams are essential to our lives. We can’t live without dreaming – as we can’t live without sleep.” The legendary American writer and teacher Joyce Carol Oates shares insights from her prodigious body of work and from her latest collection of four new novellas, Cardiff, by the Sea. In these psychologically daring, chilling pieces, she writes about women facing threats past and present, and reminds us why she is so often praised as one of America s most significant contemporary writers. Joyce Carol Oates will be in conversation with Kirsty Logan.
