Huntley Mitchell 10 May 2021 The Star Entertainment Group Limited has submitted a conditional, non-binding, indicative proposal to merge with beleaguered rival Crown Resorts. The proposal is for a nil-premium share exchange ratio of 2.68 Star shares per Crown share, and also includes a cash alternative of $12.50 per Crown share for up to 25 per cent of the company’s issued share capital, with any scale back to occur on a pro rata basis. Assuming the cash alternative is fully taken up, the merger proposal would result in pro forma ownership of the merged entity of 59 per cent for Crown shareholders and 41 per cent for Star shareholders. ....
TALLAHASSEE - Ending a legal battle that started before the 2018 elections, a federal judge on Monday approved a settlement in which 31 counties agreed to take steps to provide Spanish-language ballots and other materials to voters. The settlement, approved by Chief U.S. District Judge Mark Walker, calls for the counties to provide Spanish-language ballots and vote-by-mail applications, translations of elections websites and access to Spanish-language hotlines for voter assistance. A mix of familiar and new faces were sworn into office last Tuesday afternoon to take over a number of elected county positions. In front of a judge and crowd of masked onlookers at the front of the Alachua County courthouse, the newly elected officials took the oath of office to lead one of the following departments: Supervisor of Elections, Tax Collector, State Attorney, Property Appraiser, Public Defender, Clerk of Court and Sheriff’s Office. While a few seats were won by longstanding elected officials, a few were won by new people.
