HAMILTON â The Hamilton Community Schools board Monday approved a school reopening plan for the 2021-22 school year. âOur intent is to return as fully as normal as possible,â Superintendent Tony Cassel said. âWe will not be offering a virtual option.â According to the plan, the district will follow state and federal mandates relating to COVID-19. Currently, that means masks for unvaccinated individuals are recommended, but not required, the plan states. Masks must be worn on school buses due to a federal mandate. State and federal mandates may continue to change, the plan states. Individuals or households with positive COVID results will be quarantined following state and local health department guidelines before returning to schools. ....

Perhaps, we learn that we are always entering Egypt (or Mitzrayim in Hebrew) in our lives. Not Mitzrayim, as in the place or pyramids and monoliths, Mitzrayim as a state of mind and being. For in Jewish tradition, Mitzrayim is understood as any place of narrowness. Narrowness, where we are squeezed and pressed, where our vision is limited, our breath is short, and our future is shaped by fear, and hope is nowhere to be found. Every day we are coming to Mitzrayim and this day is no different. ....
