Gandapur distributed funds: AJK CEC to adjudicate on PTI candidate s eligibility

July 11, 2021 KARACHI: The issue of Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Ali Amin Gandapur, distributing money during the AJK election campaign has been raised with CEC AJK on Saturday for final adjudication. The PMLN VP Ch Javed Iqbal had submitted a complaint regarding violation of ECP s code of conduct during the AJK election campaign with Returning Officer Raja Shamrez. Iqbal had alleged Federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur distributed cash among voters at Ghuner, Dadhiyal to influence the outcome of the elections. Since the federal minister was accompanied by PTI candidate Azhar Sadiq, thereby the petition asked the Returning Officer to declare the PTI s candidate ineligible for contesting the polls. Sadiq is contesting from LA 1, Mirpur, Dhadiyal.

RO confiscates cash given to PTI member by Gandapur

Daily Times July 11, 2021 PTI member Chaudhry Rasib on Saturday admitted to receiving money from Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur during the party’s campaign for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly election, prompting the returning officer for Mirpur to seize the cash, a private TV channel reported. Returning Officer Mirpur Dadyal Raja Shamriz presided over a hearing in the matter of the distribution of money by Gandapur, a video of which went viral on social media. Rasib admitted that he had received Rs 390,000 from the federal minister but said that PTI candidate Azhar Sadiq, who is contesting the elections, had nothing to do with the incident.
