KDOT proposes $47 million in improvements along US-24 highway. Here s what to know about the project.

Proposed improvements to the US-24 highway could cost $47 million and will be done in multiple phases.
Steve Baalman, an engineer with the Kansas Department of Transportation, presented the proposed construction along with other members of KDOT on Thursday night. He said the project starts near Topeka Boulevard and stretches toward Muddy Creek.
“This really did start originally as a pavement replacement project,” Baalman said. “KDOT was experiencing a lot of issues with that old tired pavement on that segment of road. ....
