Knocking back a Miller High Life (circa 1903), Leinenkugel s Original (circa 1867) or Point Special Lager (circa 1857) is like drinking Wisconsin history.
Our grandparents, great-grandparents and, possibly, great-great-grandparents quenched their thirst with beers like those lagers. Most certainly the American adjunct lager has been the beer style most often tapped at Wisconsin wedding receptions, paired with fish fries and spilled down backs of fans at Packers games.
Corn was the most common adjunct beerspeak for ingredients other than water, malted barley, hops and yeast used in the brewing process used when brewing these lagers. The slightly sweet smoothness produced by the corn addition is now a key characteristic of this beer style.

Bull Falls Brewery to add coffee shop in tap room By Liz Holbrook
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) A local brewery is branching out into a new beverage.
Wednesday morning Bull Falls Brewery announced they will be opening a new coffee shop in their building. The coffee shop, Five Star Coffee, is expected to open in mid-February following construction in the brewery’s taproom. Bull Falls co-owner Don Zamzow says they got the idea for a coffee shop in the taproom after holding some parking lot pallet sales.
“It’s basically open most days beginning at 4 o’clock [p.m.] into the evening. But the rest of the time it’s sitting here not being used. So we got the idea that maybe we could get more use out of our facility if we expanded the hours with different products.”
