Arts Council announces €3m for Galway organisations

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Arts Council has announced funding of €3m for artists and organisations across Galway.
The allocations are part of a €130m investment across the country this year.
The largest allocation in Galway is to the Druid Theatre Company, which will receive €894 thousand.
Next is the iconic Galway Arts Festival, which has been allocated €640 thousand.
€305 thousand is to go to street arts organisation Macnas – while the Babaro children’s festival will benefit to the tune of €294 thousand.
€160 thousand has been allocated to both the Town Hall Theatre and Galway Arts Centre.
While Galway Community Circus and Galway Film Fleadh will both receive €150 thousand. ....

Throughout January, the First Fortnight festival presents than 70 events online, as they mark 10 years of challenging mental health stigma.
Today, we explore the series of online events focused on dance and wellbeing offered by Dance Ireland in partnership with choreographer Áine Stapleton, First Fortnight, and Galway Dance Project - curators Áine Stapleton and Louise Costello (Programme Manager at Dance Ireland) write for Culture below. 
First Fortnight gives us the opportunity to start the year with an experience for professionals and public alike to participate and share a collective moment through movement.
