Investigators say 40-year-old Marlana Young and her three children, 13-year-old Nevaeh, 11-year-old Raphael and 6-year-old Samantha were taken to local hospitals but died from injuries in that fire. The fire remains under investigation. Press Release The names of those who lost their lives as a result of a house fire in the Galloway Village neighborhood Friday morning are as follows: Marlana Young, 40, Nevaeh Young, 13, Rapheal (Rayden) Young III, 11, and Samantha Young, 6. Around 6:30 a.m., July 23, the Springfield Fire Department was dispatched to the 2000 block of South Lone Pine Avenue with reports of multiple residents still inside the home. The Galloway Neighborhood Association has gathered enough signatures to put the issue back in front of the city. The City Council votes for the issue to be put to a special election in August. Neighborhood Association President Melanie Bach says voters should care because it could be their neighborhood that faces this problem in the future. Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller says putting the issue to a vote will cost taxpayers around $153,000. Previous Story ....
