(WTOC) - The City of Savannah has revoked a film permit for a production company that had used the Colonial Park Cemetery in downtown Savannah as a filming location for an upcoming Netflix series, according to a letter from the Office of Special Events, Film, and Tourism. In the letter to the production team of “First Kill,” a representative from the office stated, “After observing this last minute decision making, I am not confident in either your production’s capability or capacity to fully abide and adhere to our City’s film requirements and guidelines.” ....

(WTOC) - UPDATE: The City of Savannah has revoked a film permit allowing a production company to film in Colonial Park Cemetery, according to a letter from the Office of Special Events, Film, and Tourism. TV cameras will be rolling yet again in Savannahâs Historic District, this time in a downtown cemetery. The Netflix series âFirst Killâ is shooting around the Savannah area, and Tuesday night theyâll be filming a scene at the Colonial Park Cemetery off Abercorn Street. That scene includes driving a vehicle through the cemetery, which has some residents concerned about protecting the historic site. ....

In Savannah, I 16 and the I-16 flyover spanning West Broad Street (now Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) and Montgomery Street transformed Savannah’s westside forever; buildings were torn down, families and businesses were displaced, and the historic street grid was rerouted to support the increased number of vehicles flowing in to Savannah. In 1967, Montgomery Street, previously two-way, was changed to one-way north bound traffic from Jones to Bay streets. In 1985, to facilitate the restoration of Franklin Square, this street was partially restored to two-way traffic from Bay to Broughton. ....
