Like many others who showed up at Colonial High Schools, she wanted to get in line early to get her COVID-19 vaccine. Orange County Public Schools hosted the vaccine events at three high schools specifically targeting teens. Scot Howat with Orange County Schools says the schools were chosen with the help of the Florida Department of Health in Orange County. “We worked with the department of health in Orange County to determine which schools they wanted to focus on, in the areas that we felt really needed to have additional resources,” Howat said.

100 days of vaccinations at the Orange County Convention Center

Thursday marked a milestone at the Orange County Convention Center. It was the 100th day of operation for vaccinations at the site. Nearly 240,000 vaccines have been administered at the convention center. With an increase in supply to the area, hundreds of appointments are available next week. There are also multiple mobile sites around the county. On Friday, shots will be administered at Bravo Supermarket on Oakridge Road, Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in West Orlando and El Presidente Supermarket in the Pine Hills area.In an effort to get school-aged children vaccinated, shots will be available at the following high schools next Wednesday: Colonial High school, Evans High School and Jones High School.Dr. Raul Pino says younger people need to get vaccinated. Orange County Public, Charter and Private School Teachers And Staff Can Get Vaccinated at Five Pop-Up Clinics This Weekend - Central Florida News

All five sites will receive 500 of the Johnson & Johnson single-shot vaccine to distribute each day.  Appointment tickets will be handed out at the sites on a first-come, first-serve basis. In a statement, OCPS says all employees regardless of age or job title are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine with an OCPS ID and their state ID like a driver’s license.  The University of Central Florida continues to vaccinate its employees through March 17 at an on-campus vaccine site. All appointments are full and the site is not open to the public. For your convenience, here are the addresses for the weekend pop-up clinics:
