The National Party state that today’s Budget lacks the plan and ambition needed to grow the economy and reduce the debt burden on future generations.
The Government announced the 2021 Budget earlier today with sweeping benefits changes, investment in infrastructure and extra funding for Pharmac among the key points.
“This Budget is confirmation of Labour’s inability to deliver. There is nothing in it for middle New Zealand,” says Leader of the Opposition Judith Collins.
“It is the Broken Compass Budget. Labour doesn’t have any direction for getting the country back on track to prosperity.” ....

A Tokoroa man has pleaded guilty to a raft of counterfeit cash charges, including possession of “a stack of fake $50 notes” and the equipment and materials to make false documents.
Nicholas Albert Andrew Parker, 38, entered the guilty pleas at Rotorua District Court on Thursday.
According to charge sheet details, Parker possessed, and used, fake $50 notes across the Bay of Plenty and Waikato, with specific charges relating to offences in Hamilton, Tīrau, Cambridge, Rotorua, Mt Maunganui, Putaruru and Taupō. ....
Police have confirmed they were alerted to the vehicle collision at 3.15pm.
