BENNINGTON â Oldcastle Theatre Company artistic director Nathan Stith likes to say that one of the greatest lessons coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic is how incredibly important human connection truly is.
Stith and was given the opportunity to showcase this imperative to the rest of the world in Oldcastleâs season opening production, âVisiting Mr. Green,â by Jeff Baron, which Stith also directed.
In the play, an 86-year-old widower, Mr. Green (Richard Howe), is nearly run down by a car driven by young corporate executive Ross Gardiner (Dean Linnard). Found guilty of reckless driving, Ross is sentenced to six months of weekly visits to Mr. Green, ostensibly to assist him with whatever life needs arise.
STOCKBRIDGE â Selectman Ernest âChuckâ Cardillo, the current board chairman, scored a victory in Tuesdayâs annual town election against challenger Don Chabon, who was seeking a comeback after having served on the board from May 2016 to May 2019.
Cardillo won his third three-year term with 295 votes while Chabon gained 208, according to unofficial results. Chabon had been endorsed by the townâs Democratic Committee in a secret caucus vote last month, with 16 of the committeeâs 26 members participating in the balloting.
Out of 1,641 registered voters, 520 cast ballots, a turnout of nearly 32 percent. Voters demonstrated a strong preference for familiar faces in town government, handing victories to long-serving members.
Endorsement for Democratic candidates in Stockbridge town election
It’s just as important, if not more so, to vote in our annual town elections that decide who makes the policy decisions that impact the future character of Stockbridge.

As chairperson of the Stockbridge Democratic Town Committee, I encourage all registered Stockbridge voters to vote in the town election on May 18. Many residents only vote in presidential years but it’s just as important, if not more so, to vote in our annual town elections that decide who makes the policy decisions that impact the future character of Stockbridge.
