A guide to saliva testing, Safer Community app for Spring 2021 semester


With the continued impact of the coronavirus worldwide, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has made a few changes to support in-person activities for the spring 2021 semester.
These changes, guided by the Spring Open Committee, mirror or follow protocols implemented before the fall 2020 semester in hopes UNL can continue to offer in-person experiences while prioritizing health and safety. 
Face coverings and physical distancing are among the guidelines continuing in the spring, and the university will continue to offer isolation housing for any student who needs it. But, with changing health protocols, mandatory saliva-based testing and monitored building access are among the major updates facing UNL community members. ....

Spring Open committee hopeful to build upon fall, improve spring semester experience


The coronavirus has impacted the way of life at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and that will continue into the spring 2021 semester. But a group of faculty, staff and students aims to build upon the successes of the fall semester and improve the UNL experience further.
The “Spring Open” committee formed in mid-October and is the spring counterpart to the Forward to Fall committee. The committee is chaired by Amy Goodburn, senior associate vice chancellor and dean of undergraduate education, and Bob Wilhelm, vice chancellor for research and economic development. Both Goodburn and Wilhelm also co-chaired Forward to Fall.
During summer 2020, Forward to Fall focused on designing and implementing policies from the ground up to make campus life possible for the fall semester amid the continued pandemic.  ....
