Charles Silverstein was a grad student in psychology when he attended a workshop at a behavioral therapy convention in October 1972. LGBTQ rights pioneer Kay Lahusen, photographer who documented early queer liberation history, dies at 91

Kay Lahusen, one of the most influential voices in the history of the LGBTQ liberation movement died Wednesday at a hospital in West Chester, Pa. She was 91.
Her death was confirmed by a friend, Judith Armstrong, according to The Associated Press.
Lahusen is known as the country’s first openly gay photojournalist who documented the early struggle for LGBTQ rights.
She “was the first photojournalist in our community,” activist Mark Segal, the founder and publisher of the Philadelphia Gay News, told the AP. “Practically every photo we have of that time is from Kay.” ....
