Covid-19 international student ban cost Lincoln University $6.5m in lost revenue


Of New Zealand’s eight universities, Lincoln had the highest proportion of international enrolments in 2019, with 48 per cent of its intake coming from overseas.
Those student numbers fell from 1592 in 2019, to 1321 in 2020. Of those, 594 came from China.
Lincoln has seen a sharp increase in Indian students, with 36 in 2015, rising to 236 in 2020.
