Freedom Newspaper GAMBIA: BREAKING NEWS: GDC KUNTAUR AREA COUNCIL CHAIRMAN DEFECTS TO NPP December 11, 2020 The Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) has suffered another defection. The party’s Chairman at the Kuntaur Area Council Saikou Jawara has resigned from the party. Jawara has defected to the National People’s party (NPP).  He has branded the GDC as a party that has no benefit to him and his constituency.   Jawara has told Star FM’s Nderry Touray in an interview that he has informed the GDC about his resignation from the party. Jawara has accused the GDC of being a party that hasn’t supported him when he was going to court with the UDP back in 2018. He was declared winner of the Kuntaur area council chairmanship position.
