The Government is investing $100 million for Short Term Roll Growth classrooms at schools across New Zealand.
Speaking at Ruakākā School in Whangārei this morning, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Associate Education Minister Kelvin Davis said the pūtea will enable students and teachers to focus on education rather than overcrowding.
Ms Ardern says the investment will also help Covid economic recovery.
Ruakākā School will get two extra classrooms, as will Te Rangi Āniwaniwa in Awanui and Whangārei Intermediate, while Ōruaiti School near Mangonui gets one classroom. ....

The pair visited Ruakākā School in Whangārei
today to announce $100 million for Short Term Roll Growth
classrooms at schools across New Zealand, and announce the
first school to benefit from a $150 million top up for
shovel ready school property projects.

A larger than usual group of Whangārei secondary students will be representing Northland at the national Shakespeare Festival finals in Wellington after top-quality performances at the regionals this month.
The Tai Tokerau Regional Shakespeare Festival was held at Kamo High School and involved 59 Whangārei high school students from five schools performing different scenes from Shakespeare s plays and sonnets. The categories were won by Whangārei Boys High and Tauraroa Area Schools. ....
