Raoul Moat: Nobody knew what he would do next - the police chief who led one of the UK s most notorious manhunts
In July 2010, Sue Sim, Temporary Chief Constable of Northumbria Police, received a call in the middle of the night to say there had been a double shooting in a quiet suburb near Newcastle. The cat-and-mouse search for the gunman Raoul Moat involved specialist police units, snipers, RAF jets and played out live to a worldwide TV audience.
Ms Sim has shared her story in The Hunt For Raoul Moat, the second episode of StoryCast 21 - a Sky News podcast series telling 21 extraordinary personal stories from some of the biggest news events of the century.

A MOUNTAIN rescue volunteer has been honoured by the Royal Humane Society for coming to the aid of a stricken hill walker. Stuart King, a member of Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team, has been awarded a testimonial on vellum for putting himself in considerable danger to save the life of the injured walker in the Cairngorm Mountains, in Scotland, last February. The testimonial was awarded by HRH, Princess Alexandra, the society president. Mr King was climbing with three friends on Creag Meagaidh on a cold, snowy day, when they heard a cry of alarm from another group and looked down to see one of the climbers tumbling down a gully at great speed.
