SAN FRANCISCO - The Metropolitan Transportation Commission launched a mobile Clipper card app this week and made the transit-fare payment system available on iPhone and Apple Watch via Apple Pay.
Bay Area transit riders can add their Clipper card to their Apple Wallet and load cash value directly to it with Apple Pay, according to Apple and the MTC, which oversees the transit agencies in the Bay Area. ....

Just 9 minutes ago, a 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck near Concord, Contra Costa County, California, USA. The tremor was recorded in the morning on Thursday 14 January 2021 at 11:18 am local time, at a very shallow depth of 4.2 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.8 earthquake as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc. ....
