Collapsed Miami condo pool deck was flagged as a problem TWENTY FIVE YEARS ago in report which found 500ft of cracks and warned waterproofing had to be completely replaced
A 1996 inspection report raised multiple issues about the pool deck at Champlain Tower South which collapsed on June 24
The report found that the pool deck had 500 cracks that needed to be sealed and a 20-square-foot slab that needed to be replaced during a 1996 inspection
The report noted that the waterproofing below the pool deck and entrance drive also needed to be completely removed and repaired
Although the report didn t specifically indicate the building was at risk of collapse, it did outline concerns, later laid out in the October 2018 report
