Updated 3/5/2021 7:50 PM On Wednesday, March 10, Eighth Blackbird, a four-time Grammy Award-winning Chicago-based music ensemble, will showcase sax player and composer Nick Zoulek in a livestream concert at 7 p.m. CT. This concert is part of the Eighth Blackbird s Chicago Artists Workshop livestream concert series.
Zoulek s performance will feature solo performance of his compositions with collaborative films from his debut 2016 album, Rushing Past Willow, plus new works from his upcoming project, Enter Branch. Imagine MKE, an advocacy organization for the region’s arts sector, received applications for 82 organizations, receiving documentation of over $30 million in losses or expenses incurred because of the COVID-19 pandemic and over $4.4 million in aid requests. “The need from the culture and arts sector far out paces both the present and projected resources available to support them,” said county executive David Crowley. “The millions in documented losses underscore how the downsizing of this sector of our economy could have far-reaching, long-term effects if not addressed immediately.” ....
