The final drew an average audience of 728,000 viewers, down 33 per cent from the 1.09 million who watched the year before, according to Numeris data provided by rightsholder TSN. The drop follows a similar ratings decrease for last month s Canadian women s curling championship, the first of seven major events to be held in the spectator-free Canada Olympic Park venue.

Alberta’s Brendan Bottcher has finally won the Tim Hortons’ Brier.
The 29 year old skip beat Kevin Koe’s Wild Card Two team 4-2 in the final of the Canadian men’s curling championship winning yesterday (Sun) in Calgary.
Bottcher had lost the last three times in the final, including a loss to Koe in 2019.
Meanwhile, Saskatchewan’s Matt Dunstone out of the Wadena Re/Max curling cup got their 2nd straight Bronze medal after falling 6-5 in the Semi-Final to Bottcher earlier in the day.
Bottcher shot 97 per cent to lead his Alberta side to a 4-2 victory. Koe s Wild Card Two conceded in the 10th end with no options available to score a game-tying deuce. It s just such a good feeling when you know you ve worked so hard and then you come out and play your best at the biggest game there is, Bottcher said. That s just really a cool and a special feeling.
With about 30 seconds left on the clock, Koe and teammates John Morris, B.J. Neufeld and Ben Hebert briefly studied the house. Facing three stones and with no real chance at pulling even, they decided to call it.
