A multiagency task force recently arrested two men on suspicion of sexual exploitation of children, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department. Christopher Austin Sanchez, 23, and David Earl Russell, 55, were arrested in separate cases, police said. Both men could face multiple felony charges. The Colorado Springs Internet Crimes Against Children task force, comprised of local detectives, sheriff’s deputies, and federal agents, executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Catalina Court on Thursday and found more than 20 child pornography videos, according to court records. The task force issued an arrest warrant for Sanchez, who turned himself in to authorities the following day. ....
Sturgis Journal April 7, 1961, seems long ago to most people. For Anna Flowers, it is a date she will never forget. One that date, her husband, Edward Bauman, and her two younger brothers, Howard Richard (aka Dick) and Robert Vroman, drowned in a Sherman Township lake. Ed was 18 and about to become a father, Dick was 16 and Bobby, 13. They went spearing that Friday night at Quail Lake, with Larry Lung. Only Larry returned home. According to the Sturgis Journal s April 8, 1961, edition, they were in a rusty boat that recently had been repaired. The boat sprang a leak and sank. One Person Airlifted After Rollover Gorman Crash On 5 Freeway One person was trapped in their vehicle and airlifted from the I-5 Freeway after a Gorman crash Tuesday morning. At approximately 9 a.m. Tuesday, a call went out for one person trapped in their vehicle due to a rollover crash on the 5 Freeway near Quail Lake in Gorman, according to Leslie Lua, spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “One person was extricated from the vehicle with moderate injuries and airlifted to a local hospital,” Lua said. All lanes of the 5 Freeway were temporarily blocked to allow emergency responders to land their helicopter and quickly airlift the victim, according to California Highway Patrol incident logs. ....
