In his letter to Sonia Gandhi, BJP president JP Nadda said India is fighting Covid with courage but Congress creating false panic. JP NAdda added that India has almost no recent history of vaccine hesitancy. “Congress tried to create it during once-in-a-century pandemic,” he said.

As India battles the second wave of Covid-19, BJP president JP Nadda has accused the Congress of “misleading” people and creating false panic in the fight against the pandemic.
NEW DELHI: Senior Congress leaders questioned the party’s decision to ally with AIUDF in Assam in the recent elections, saying sensitive issues should have been determined by keeping the national perspective in view, suggesting that such alliances only spark or consolidate a counter-polarisation.
The remarks by two seniors, Digvijaya Singh and Ghulam Nabi Azad, a leading member of the G-23 group of dissenters, are a rewind to the post-2014 diagnosis led by Sonia Gandhi and A K Antony that BJP’s painting of Congress as a “pro-minority” party was a factor behind the Lok Sabha rout.
The meeting of the Congress Working Committee on Monday saw Singh slamming the tie-up with AIUDF. West Bengal in-charge Jitin Prasada said ally Left’s decision to rope in the newly-launched Muslim outfit ISF was a bad decision which hurt Congress.
During the last CWC meet,
Central Election Authority had proposed 23rd June as the date for electing the new Congress chief. However, the next schedule will be decided by the party s Central Election Authority, the sources added.
Earlier, while addressing the CWC meeting,
Congress president Sonia Gandhi said the party has to take note of its serious setbacks in assembly polls in several states and face the reality to draw the right lessons.
