Over its final few weeks My Roommate Is a Gumiho has seen its characters grapple with their fates, but this being a romantic drama, Shin Woo-yeo (Jang Ki-yong) – a nine-tailed fox of Korean folklore that takes on human form – and college student Lee Dam (Lee Hye-ri) were always destined to become a couple.
The fantasy elements in the show may have aligned to tear Woo-yeo and Dam apart but, no matter the apparent internal narrative destiny, the fact that these characters are the leads in a prime-time Korean romantic drama means their fate is already sealed.

In the Korean drama series My Roommate Is a Gumiho, Lee Dam (Lee Hye-ri) stays in the mansion of Shin Woo-yeo (Jang Ki-yong), a supernatural creature known as a gumiho. For her protection, since she accidentally swallowed a special bead that contains his life force, she must abide by certain house rules.
This article contains spoilers. 3.5/5 stars After a smooth, action-packed ride, Taxi Driver drove into the home stretch, combining its episodic and serialised elements into a mostly satisfying conclusion that peaked early, before setting its sights very firmly on a potential season two. As Kim Do-ki, Lee Je-hoon, who was also on screens this spring in the Netflix show Move.
