A court notice published in Jang newspaper on February 28 has levelled allegations of criminal conduct against the secretary-general of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists. The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and PFUJ have expressed concern at attempts to silence the voice of the union leader. The Karachi-based Urdu newspaper published the warrant notice against Rana Muhammad Azeem, which according to the daily newspaper was a paid notice by the court. The notice also detailed the personal address and telephone number of the leader.
