(WAFF) - Huntsville City Council members will meet Wednesday night to talk about the Huntsville Police Citizens Advisory Councilâs review of the 2020 summer protests. Last week, independent attorneys on behalf of HPCAC presented their review of what they say happened during those protests. The report found several things the police handled well during the June 1 and June 3 protests but also highlighted multiple policy violations. During Wednesdayâs meeting, Councilman Bill Kling is expected to present ideas about how to improve Huntsville Police Department. Kling developed these solutions after seeking the feedback of several community members. ....

Huntsville city leaders remember a local fallen Vietnam veteran by dedicating a bridge in his honor. Mayor Tommy Battle, along with Councilman Bill Kling, (Dist. 4) attended. Leader s unveiled the Lance Cpl. Larry G. Clark Memorial Bridge on Drake Avenue just west of Memorial Parkway. Clark s sister Lavonne Clark, his Aunt Jo Ann Mitchel Bolden, and nephew Terry Rust were there to receive a copy of the bridge sign. Some of Clark s high school friends attended also. ....
