City Councilman David Mann chairs City Council s Budget and Finance Committee and is running for mayor. He worries the charter amendment as proposed which would require lawmakers to allocate $50 million annually for affordable housing doesn t specify how the city budget will pay for the fund.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Gavi Begtrup, a Cincinnati scientist and entrepreneur, filed signatures this week to earn his place on the ballot for the May 4 primary for mayor.
Begtrup has started two companies here in Cincinnati: WaveTech, which developed new agricultural technology, and Eccrine Systems, which focused on medical diagnostics.
He has worked with the Chamber of Commerce on regional economic development, as well as with Cincytech, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and the University of Cincinnati on technology commercialization and startup formation.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Hamilton County Clerk of Courts Aftab Pureval announced Thursday he’s running for mayor of Cincinnati - the latest candidate to enter what is getting to be quite a crowded race.
Mayor John Cranley is term-limited out after eight years.
“I’m running for Mayor to lead us boldly into the new decade, starting with an aggressive economic recovery from COVID that benefits every neighborhood in Cincinnati, and a plan to restore the public’s trust in City Hall,” Pureval said in a news release sent out by his campaign.

CINCINNATI (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER) - Former Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory said he’s pulling petitions Tuesday to run for Cincinnati mayor.
He’s not 100% sure about a 2021 mayoral run, but he said he’s seriously considering running and wants to be in a position to do so.
Mallory, who was Cincinnati mayor from 2005 to 2013, is the son of William Mallory Sr., who was a longtime state lawmaker and the first Black to serve as Ohio House Majority Leader.
