Conservative Keith Williams The borough council s cabinet member for climate change, Keith Williams, now has responsibility for climate change, finance and commercialisation. He has taken on half the job previously done by Russell Holland and is responsible for setting the council’s budget every year, making sure it sticks to it, as well as looking for opportunities to bring in more money. He said: “I’m sure there are no other councils with climate change and finance as a portfolio. There are a number of councils which don’t even have a cabinet member for climate change.” Coun Williams said he believes putting the two together means influencing the council use of natural resources might be easier: “Climate change comes first in my title and this portfolio will make sure it stays one of the council’s highest priorities.
