Editor’s Note: This is Part 1 of a 2-part series on how the nation, and specifically Clinton County, faced the pandemic of 1918. The series will continue later next week.
The 2020 coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) came as quite a surprise to the nation last year.
Communities including our own here in Clinton County were placed under lockdown, favorite restaurants and shops were closed, and social distancing was encouraged.
Our families gathered around the television, radio, or even outlets like Facebook as press conferences and new health orders were enacted daily. The current residents of Clinton County had never experienced a worldwide pandemic such as this in their lifetime. ....

State awards millions in grants in York County, including $3M to Windsor Township for a community center

Last week, 13 large projects in York County were awarded more than $14 million combined.
The grants are part of a long of list of projects across the state that were awarded money for redevelopment through the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program. The grant program is administered by the State of Pennsylvania’s Office of the Budget and is for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects.
Grant money has been awarded from the state through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program since 1986. ....
