Fairfield County Bank Donates $12,000 to ACT of Connecticut

Fairfield County Bank and ACT of CT have had a long-standing partnership, which has been furthered by recent donations.
This summer, Fairfield County Bank made a donation specifically to support bus transportation for students to attend the educational programs that ACT (A Contemporary Theatre) puts on, in addition to the Bank’s yearly support of ACT’s production seasons. ACT of CT’s mission is to elevate the level of entertainment in Fairfield County and to foster a sense of community through the arts by producing exceptional theater and encouraging an environment of inclusivity and artistic excellence. ....

'A measure of sentimentality and sadness'


SEVIERVILLE — Acknowledging “a measure of sentimentality and sadness,” Sevier County Bank President and CEO Bobby Stoffle spoke Wednesday of the announcement of a planned merger with SmartBank.
Pending regulatory reviews, the merger should be completed by the early third quarter of this year. If approved, customers will likely begin seeing changes in the fall such as the SmartBank name on buildings.
“There’s a measure of sentimentality and sadness,” Stoffle said of the move.
Sevier County Bank was established in 1909.
Currently, Sevier County Bank operates six local branches and one in Richmond, Virginia. That location operates as Southern Community Bank. When the announcement was made in November 2020 about the new Virginia location, it marked Sevier County Bank’s first expansion outside the area. ....
