Dane Co. plans to invest $2M in Badger Prairie Needs Network expansion, job training initiatives May 19, 2021 3:42 PM Logan Rude VERONA, Wis. Dane County is investing $2 million in the Badger Prairie Needs Network to bolster the organization’s job training efforts and fund a new multi-use gathering space. Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced the new funding at a press conference alongside BPNN leaders, representatives from Latino Academy of Workforce Development and other community members. The planned 4,800 square foot space would be used as a gathering place for job trainings, wellness programming and the relaunch of the organization’s weekend community meal program. BPNN’s weekend meal program previously shut down at the beginning of the pandemic. ....
By Chelsey May 18, 2021 Public Health Madison and Dane County announced today that all area mask orders will end June 2 in line with the new CDC guidlines. The City of Madison shared a news release that said officials estimate that 75% of eligible Dane County residents will have received one dose of the vaccine by June 2, which is when the current emergency order is up. Dane County Executive Joe Parisi said, There may be people and businesses out there who still want masks policies in place after the orders end as masks still provide and additional layer of protection. We recommend that businesses take this time to consider next steps, while reminding patrons of the current order which remains in place. ....
