Lancaster County Academy graduates take pride in overcoming odds [photos]


Why?
“Overcoming obstacles is what they do,” according to Ryan McFadden, Lancaster County Academy director.
For the Class of 2021, those obstacles included a global pandemic that resulted in the loss of a campus. Lancaster County Academy moved to Central Penn College’s campus when HACC, the academy’s previous location, decided not to open its doors to in-person instruction during the 2020-21 academic year. Next year, Lancaster County Academy will have a second location at Crossroads Church.
Even facing those hurdles, 27 students graduated Saturday during the school’s 27th commencement, matching the highest number of graduates the school has seen since 2009. ....

Women’s Regional League results featured a quarter-final cup victory on penalties for New Milton Town.
EASTERN – Bedford win top of the table clash
Group A – Cambridge City made it three wins from three in the Challenge Cup with a 2-1 defeat of AFC Dunstable, meaning Wroxham finished second in the table on goal-difference.
Group B – Bedford beat Harlow Town 3-1 to replace them in pole position, the result was their third straight victory.
Group C – Leigh Ramblers are new leaders following a 5-2 success at Stevenage Development, which has them on maximum points with one game to go.
Group D – Colney Heath got off the mark by denying St Ives Town the leadership with a 2-0 reverse. Lily Hall and Nicola Puddick were the scorers for the hosts. ....
