26th January 2021 PZ Cussons has reported a jump in first-half sales and profits as continued to see raised demand for its soaps and hand sanitisers during the pandemic. However, the group flagged that it had recently seen some Brexit-related disruption to its supplies. Over the six months to 30 November, the British firm’s adjusted operating profit from continuing operations rose 14.8% on a constant currency basis to £36.4m with margins up despite increased investment in “marketing and organisational capabilities”. Pre-tax profit climbed 18.7% to £34.9m. Group revenue was up 14.5% to £312.9m, with growth in all its operating regions. The group highlighted that its key ‘Focus Brands’ grew sales by 21.9%, driven by its Carex, Morning Fresh, Cussons Baby and St Tropez lines. ....
