Many of these honored athletes and coaches are headed to the 2021 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships next week in Birmingham, Alabama. Men’s Track Athlete of the Year ATLANTIC REGION – Julian Griffin – Wheeling Griffin, a freshman from Lebanon, Ohio, is ranked first regionally in the 60H at 8.28. CENTRAL REGION – Ryan Riddle – Missouri Southern Riddle, a sophomore from Webb City, Missouri, is ranked third nationally in the mile at 4:01.07. He is also ranked 20th nationally in the 5000 at 14:09.72. Riddle earned the MIAA High Point Award at the conference championships with victories in the mile and 3000 as well as runner-up effort in the 5000. ....

Making him happy is the progress made by Saint Lucia athletes attending University in the USA. The SLAA has created the first Newsletter/ magazine in 42 years, since it was founded in 1979. SLAA President – Cornelius Breen “With the COVID-19 pandemic hindering our operations throughout the past year, we have been unable to take to the tracks to show off the talents of our athletes and the expertise of our coaches and technical officials. FILE It was a busy weekend for Bahamian athletes in indoor action with premier sprinter Shaunae Miller-Uibo leading the way as she opened her season with a national record in the women’s 200 meters (m) at the American Track League Meet #2 at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Saturday. Also at that meet was collegiate jumper LaQuan Nairn. A number of other Bahamian track and field athletes were in action for their respective schools as they continued to perform at a high level on the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) scene. Some of those athletes made the best of their season debuts after not competing collegiately since March 2020. ....
