Mize Art Studio's new space offers students a place to be creative

When Michael Mize first opened an art studio in 2018 in his garage and started offering art classes to the public, he dreamed of one day being able to offer a larger, brighter environment.
Mize officially opened Mize Art Studio, 1501 S.W. 21st St., Suite 117, on Friday. He will begin offering a slate of classes this week.
Mize, a former Washburn Rural art teacher, will have the ability to expand not only the capacity of his art classes, but he also hopes to create partnerships with local businesses and further develop relationships among his students.
Located in the Washburn View shopping center, which sits adjacent to Washburn University, Mize Art Studio can have up to 16 people in one class, compared to Mize s at-home art studio where he could squeeze in 10 people. ....

Manhattan Wrestling Brings Home Four Medalists
By David Donnert

In the previous two weeks of qualifying for state, the Indians came out fast and furious, but that didn’t carry over for a third week in a row. Three wrestlers lost in the first round, those coming out with wins were junior Easton Taylor at 132 pounds and K-State football commit senior Damian Ilalio at 285 pounds, moving both wrestlers to the championship semifinals. ....
