B.C. records 41 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths


B.C. health officials announced 41 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths on Wednesday.

The B.C. government announced 41 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths on Wednesday.
In a written statement, the province said there are currently 639 active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C.
A total of 65 people are in hospital, with 11 in intensive care.
Overall hospitalizations, which typically lag behind spikes and dips in new cases, are down by 24 per cent from last Wednesday, when 86 people were in hospital with the disease.  ....

Five new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on Island over weekend


No new deaths were reported, leaving the total at 1,760 to date.
The province reported 46 new cases from Friday to Saturday, 47 new cases from Saturday to Sunday, and 30 new cases from Sunday to Monday. The numbers are provisional and may be updated.
Of the 658 active cases in B.C., the Vancouver Coastal Health region has the most active cases at 257 followed by Fraser Health with 175, Interior Health with 167, Northern Health with 30, and Island Health with 22.
Sixty-six people are in hospital with COVID-19 in hospital, including 14 are in intensive care.
There are no outbreaks in long-term care or assisted living facilities and three in acute care settings: Laurel Place at Surrey Memorial Hospital, Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody, and Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. ....

COVID-19 update: B.C. adds 123 cases over the weekend as average continues to climb


 
VANCOUVER
British Columbia recorded another 123 cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, as the province s seven-day average continued to inch upward.
There have been 148,154 coronavirus infections identified across B.C. since the start of the pandemic, the Ministry of Health said in a news release Monday.
The latest cases pushed the province s rolling weekly average to 47 per day, which is an increase of 12 from one week ago.
Prior to last week, the average plummeted for months after peaking at a record high of 1,130 per day back in April.
Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry previously noted that B.C. was likely to experience a slight uptick in cases after the province relaxed many of its COVID-19 rules and restrictions. ....
