VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the government has decided to amend the AP Private University Act, 2006 by which 35 per cent seats in private universities would be filled by the government quota. The amendment Bill will be introduced in the Budget session. ....

Regulatory panel recommends action against 75 institutions for gross anomalies
Expressing anger on managements of private schools and colleges that have been collecting excess fee from students in violation of the guidelines issued by the government in view of the COVID-19, Chairman of the A.P. School Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission (APSERMC) R. Kanta Rao has urged parents to fight the menace by putting their foot down and refusing to pay excess fee. ....

State government approves suggestions made by APHERMC
The government has approved the suggestions made by the AP Higher Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission (APHERMC) on fixation of fee for B. Tech, B. Arch, Marine Engineering and B. Pharmacy courses in private unaided professional institutes in the State for the block period 2020-21 to 2022-23.
A notification issued to this effect has left the stakeholders disconcerted. “It is shocking to say the least. The commission (APHERMC) has apparently not done proper home work,” said Nedurumalli Ram Kumar, president of AP Private Engineering Colleges Managements Association (APPECMA).

The Hindu, Mr. Ram Kumar referred to the drastic cut in the fee “without taking into consideration the high inflation rate” and said the commission should have taken into account a comprehensive picture of the scenario before arriving at a decision. ....

Officials of the AP School Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission on Friday reviewed the first phase of the Nadu-Nedu scheme.
At a meeting with the stakeholders, Commission Vice-Chairperson A. Vijaya Sarada Reddy, Secretary Sambasiva Reddy, and members V. Narayana Reddy, C.A.V. Prasad, B. Eswaraiah and K. Ajay Kumar took stock of the works taken up under the scheme. Later, addressing the media, Mr. Narayana Reddy said that Nadu-Nedu works were taken up in 15,000 schools at a cost of ₹4,000 crore. ....
