(WMC) - UCA College Nationals is the biggest stage for collegiate cheer and poms. “We are just ecstatic that we are able to come home with these trophies and represent so well,” Memphis Spirit Coordinator and Dance Coach, Carol Lloyd Cross said. Dance won a national title for the first time since 2012 in Division IA Hip Hop. They put on two perfect performances. “When you know that you performed to the best of your ability and they performed, they shined,” Lloyd Cross added. ....
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas cheerleading team was crowned National Champions this week after competing in the UCA College Virtual National Championships. This win marked the team’s first victory in the D1A Small Coed Division and first win since 1995. KU topped second-place University of Miami with a final score of 85.10. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many spirit squads were unable to travel for the 2020-2021 academic year. The Universal Cheerleaders Association responded by offering a virtual competition for teams that were unable to travel to College Nationals in Orlando, Fla. A total of 20 teams competed across various divisions for the national championship title. ....

The IC Dance Team competed at the Dance Team Union College Classic National Invitational held at the Marriott World Center in Orlando, Florida April 10 th and 11 The team competed in the Open division of Hip-Hop with their money themed routine. They were against six teams in the NCAA Division I, II, III,and NAIA placing 4 th overall in the nation. This is the second time in Illinois College History that the team has been to a national competition, the first was in 2019 when the team competed at NDA College Nationals. ....
