Attorney Ben Crump among three commencement speakers at FAMU


Rainge will address all 2021 graduates at 6 p.m. Friday, July 30.
The Thomasville, Georgia native earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business from FAMU, a master’s degree in Agricultural Law from the University of Arkansas School of Law’s Graduate Program in Agricultural Law, and a law degree from the University of Florida.
Freeman earned her bachelor’s degree and MBA in finance from FAMU’s School of Business & Industry in 2005 and a second MBA from Harvard Business School in 2010.
At 9 a.m. Saturday, July 31, she will address graduates of School of Business & Industry, College of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health and the School of Environment graduates. ....

With over 1,000 people slain at the hands of police last year alone, some U.S. citizens are hoping the recent instatement of President Joe Biden will be accompanied by a series of policy reforms focused on suppressing police violence.
FSU experts on police reform are now available to students for discussing upcoming police reform policies and their findings, including police training, police brutality and its prevalence among minority groups.
James Wright II, assistant professor at the Askew School of Public Administration and Public Policy, focuses on discussing police use of force, law enforcement’s body cameras and navigating conflict between police officers and communities of color. ....
