Arab City Schools will dismiss 2 hours early.
Boaz City Schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m.
Colbert County Schools will dismiss at 1 p.m.
Cornerstone Christian Academy will release pre-school at 1:15 and elementary and high school at 1:30.
Cullman County Schools will dismiss at Noon.
DeKalb County Schools will release at 1 p.m
Florence City Schools will dismiss PreK-6 schools at 11:30 a.m. and grades 7-12 at 12:15 p.m. ....

School systems across the Tennessee Valley have differing mask protocols for students and staff following the expiration of the mandate.

Forsyth County Schools challenges stimulus funding formula


CUMMING, Ga. — Officials with Forsyth County Schools are questioning a formula for federal stimulus funds they say is lopsided and unfairly penalizes the district based on the makeup of its student population.
Georgia’s public schools have received nearly $6 billion in federal stimulus funds in the past year aimed at helping K-12 schools respond and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. The school-based funding has been included in three separate stimulus bills approved by Congress over the past year.
The first two rounds under then-President Donald Trump were referred to as the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act; the second under President Joe Biden were included in the recently-approved American Rescue Plan. ....

Sen. Jon Ossoff announces a combined $1.6 billion for metro Atlanta area school districts.
ATLANTA - Senator Jon Ossoff spent Thursday afternoon at Cascade Elementary School in Atlanta announcing billions of dollars for schools in north Georgia.
Ossoff said thanks to the American Rescue Plan a combined $1.6 billion will go toward 20 different metro Atlanta school districts.
The top five districts that will receive the most money include:
Gwinnett County Schools: $265.2 million
DeKalb County Schools: $230.6 million
Clayton County Schools: $198.2 million
Atlanta Public Schools: $193 million
Cobb County Schools: $182.3 million ....
