May 12, 2021 A memorial Mass for Virginia P. Cusimano, 92, formerly of Memory Garden and 144 Allen St., who died Jan. 19, 2021, will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. James Catholic Church. A lifelong Jamestown resident, she was born Oct. 1, 1928, a daughter of the late John and Sarah Cusimano. Prior to her retirement in 1990, she was employed by District 65 IAMAW as office secretary. She earlier had worked at Art Metal where she was president of the union. Surviving are her God-daughters and caregivers Kathy Cordosi and Deanna Cordosi; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Healy; and a brother, Anthony Cusimano. ....
May 11, 2021 Virginia Delores Carl-son, age 89 and 11/12ths, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021, at UPMC Chautauqua. Born in Jamestown, N.Y., she was the last surviving child of eight children born to the late Edwin A. and Johanna K. Pederson Anderson. Virginia grew up with her seven brothers and sisters on Woodlawn Avenue and Camp Street in Jamestown and was a graduate of Jamestown High School. In her early years, she worked at Jamestown Royal, the Printz Company and Art Metal Corporation. On Feb. 14, 1958, she married Charles E. Carlson and together they raised four children in a wonderful neighborhood on Shadyside Avenue in Lakewood, where the couple still resided. ....
