GUWAHATI: The Congress party on Thursday declared the list of two more candidates for the 2nd phase of elections to the Legislative Assembly of Assam.
As per the list Ratan Engti will contest from Bokajan while Sum Ronghang will contest from Diphu- both the seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes.
Earlier, the party released a list of 26 candidates for the second phase. ....

Pro-talk ULFA leader held among two others for plotting to assassinate Minister Sarma

GUWAHATI: A plot to disturb the poll process by assassinating top leaders including a Minister has been unearthed by the State Police.
Based on a telephonic conversation, Crime Branch Guwahati and Dispur Police arrested pro-talk ULFA leader Pradeep Gogoi from Hatigaon on Monday night in this regard. Meanwhile, two other persons who were on the call with Gogoi Manab Pathak and Ketu Mudi were also arrested from Karbi Anglong the same night. Manab Pathak serves the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) as a market supervisor while Ketu Mudi is his associate.
The Crime Branch has registered a Suo Moto case 06/2021 u/s 120 (B)/121/121(A)/ 122 r/w 18 of UPA. ....
