Week-long curfew imposed in Dehradun district in wake of rising Covid cases ANI | Updated: Apr 26, 2021 07:01 IST
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], April 26 (ANI): In wake of the surge in COVID-19 cases, district administration imposed a curfew in parts of Dehradun district from 7 pm of April 26 to 5 am of May 3.
As per Dehradun District Magistrate, Dr Ashish Kumar Srivastava, curfew will be imposed in Dehradun district s Rishikesh, Dehradun, Garhi Cantt, and Clement Town s municipal areas.
Meanwhile, Corona curfew will also remain in place in Haldwani Municipal Corporation, Lalkuan Nagar Panchayat, and Ramnagar areas of Nainital district between April 27 and May 3.
Uttarakhand reported 4,368 fresh COVID-19 cases, 1,748 recoveries, and 44 deaths on Sunday. The state has 35,864 active cases, while the death toll has mounted to 2,164.

The district authorities here imposed a week-long curfew from Monday evening to tackle the surge in coronavirus cases. The curfew will begin at 7 pm on Monday and go on till 5 am on May 3, an order issued by Dehradun DM Ashish Kumar Shrivastava said.
The order applies to the whole of the district, including the Rishikesh Municipal Corporation area, Garhi Cantt and Clement Town. Movement of private vehicles will remain completely banned during the period. Ration shops and those selling vegetables, fruits and dairy products will be open till 4 pm, the order said.

New Delhi: Amid grim COVID-19 crisis looming over the country, Shri Hemkunt Sahib Yatra in Uttarakhand was postponed on Sunday (April 25).
The Yatra for Sri Hemkunt Sahib Gurudwara, situated in the hilly district of Chamoli, was slated to commence from May 10. It has now been deferred in view of the rising coronavirus cases, ANI reported.

Dehradun district administration has imposed a week-long curfew in several areas
In an attempt to curb the spiraling COVID 19 cases, the district administration has imposed a week-long curfew in Dehradun. The curfew will come in effect from 7 pm on April 26 and will go on until 5 am on May 3.
The curfew will be imposed in Dehradun district s Rishikesh, Garhi Cantt, Dehradun City, and Clement Town s Municipal areas, District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Kr Srivastava informed.Â
Apart from the Dehradun district, several other places in Uttarakhand state will witness a lockdown like Haldwani Municipal Corporation, Lalkuan Nagar Panchayat, and Ramnagar areas of Nainital district. Here, the effect can be seen between April 27 and May 3.
