NEWCOMERSTOWN When an event draws enough people to create a traffic jam, it’s a success.  And that was what the Easter Experience hosted by the Home Plate Project became on Saturday, March 27, at Cy Young Park.
The free event by the community ministry program included free food, prizes (including bicycles and Easter baskets), and thousands of Easter eggs.
A crowd estimated at over 1,000 jammed into Cy Young Park with plenty of children, parents and grandparents coming to enjoy a beautiful sunny Saturday morning. Traffic was backed up to College Street prior to the event and cars were parked everywhere at the park. One of those attending was almost in awe when they arrived, saying, “I didn’t know there were this many people in Newcomerstown.” ....
