Carol is a much-loved part of the BBC Breakfast team and is regularly complimented for her weather reports online and in person.
The star claimed she would “never forget” one encounter when “one chap” told her about his “terminally ill mother” who was in a hospice.
She recalled: “He said seeing me being bright and breezy and like the day was filled with joy, made her feel like there was a lot to live for.
“I have never forgotten that.”
Carol, who was trained by the Met Office, has won at least seven TRIC Awards for presenting weather forecasts.

Despite numerous appearances on other shows, the TV star has always maintained that BBC Breakfast was her “dream job”.
Carol claimed to love delivering the UK’s forecasts, even when she’s blamed for “ruining barbecues” due to inaccurate weather reports.
But Carol anticipates being “told” she can “no longer do the weather” one day in the future.
She told The Scottish Sun that losing her slot on BBC Breakfast would be “like losing a limb”.

After the Welsh star’s slot on BBC Breakfast last weekend, fans took to Twitter to discuss how much they enjoyed his forecast.
One user said they were “loving the new happy, happy weather man” and another praised his “great weather reporting”.
A third wrote: “Morning Owain, a breath of fresh (if chilly) air having you on the box and in the studio this morning.
“Love the delivery and presentation hope you’ve brought along the drums for an encore for your last slot! Have a great Sat.”
