Tetbury Goods Shed set to re-open later this month


Tetbury Goods Shed has announced plans to re-open on May 20.
Covid safety measures will be in place and numbers will be limited when it first re-opens - but that hasn t stopped the Goods Shed from scheduling a varied programme of events.
Theatre features strong in May and June with Gerard Logan in Wilde without the Boy on May 21, a dramatisation of Oscar Wilde s letter his lover from Reading Gaol.
On June 5, The Festival Players are putting on Henry V - Shakespeare s most popular history play.
The Tetbury U3A play reading group is presenting The Black Pit , their own play, written during lockdown, about the black death and some striking similarities to today on June 20. ....

THE good news this week is that the BBC has committed to running a proper Proms season from July through to September. So hurrah for that: a glimmer of normality on the horizon.
More immediately though, we face a second silent Easter without the great choral spectacles that people turn to at this time of year. But thanks to period performance practice and the pared-downed forces it encourages, there’s actually more happening than you’d expect – albeit online. And my main recommendation for the Easter weekend is a (relatively big) Bach St John Passion livestreamed free at 7pm Good Friday from the Berwaldhallen, Stockholm. ....
