A holiday meal for environmental services workers and for frontline COVID-19 nurses at CaroMont Regional Medical Center was provided on Dec. 21 through the efforts of the Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce s Ambassador Program.
The Chamber Ambassadors recruited not only donations of meals from local restaurants but also financial contributions from local business leaders to purchase additional meals.
At a brief outdoor ceremony to accept the donation, CaroMont CEO Chris Peek spoke of the unique community which exists in Gaston County and of which CaroMont is a part. This is why we re here, Peek said. We are a community hospital. We are part of a community which treasures love, compassion, caring, and acts of kindness.
